Success Formula Secrets Part Four

Whew! The past 5 days have been hectic, inspiring, motivating and fulfilling ... All rolled into one!

Last Thursay and Friday was National Achievers Congress 2006. For those who were there, I'm sure you benefitted greatly from the precious nuggets of knowledge given by World Class Speakers like Jim Rohn, Ron Kaufman, James Skinner and others. It was a mind-blowing two days where these Top-of-the-class speakers distilled their precious knowledge into bite-sized chunks for our benefit. I'll be posting on their nuggets of wisdom in a separate entry. For those who were not present or are not aware of what National Achievers Congress is about, stay tuned for my next entry where I'll share the super-charged wisdom which was jam-packed into the two days.

Friday and Saturday for me were spent conducting a Seminar that has reached out and changed the lives of more than 10,000 people. People have graduated from the seminar with the profound knowledge of:
  • How to get rid of bad habits forever,
  • How to improve self-confidence,
  • How to overcome their greatest obstacle to success -- their mindset
  • The mentality of a successful entreprenuer
  • Many more valuable nuggets of knowledge that has made this seminar such a life-changing experience and has attracted people to fly from Thailand, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Vietnam, Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia to Sunny Singapore just to attend the two-day seminar
For those who are interested to find out more, I'll be posting about the seminar in a future entry so do stay tuned!

Ok, back to our 4th installment of Success Formula Secrets.

In my last post, I talked about the importance of practice and how it was to come before action. So what comes before practice?

Well, before you even practice, you need to have a plan

How many of you have heard the saying ...

People don't plan to fail,
They merely fail to plan

Every great person has had a plan for his life, his business and his success. You will not hear of a successful person going through life in a haphazard manner. All great people conceptualized a plan before they went ahead to execute it.

So do you have a plan as well?

If not, you are putting millions of dollars in potential income on the table!

You need a good plan in order to have a direction towards your results. Going through life without a good plan is like driving in a foreign country without a map or street directory. Anyone ever stuck in such a situation? I definitely wouldn't want to be in that particular situation!

"Ok Terence, I understand that a plan is important. So what is a good plan?"

Good question ...

A good plan is one which countinuously brings you closer to your goal, day after day, month after month, year after year. A good plan brings you one step closer to your goal every single day. It doesn't matter how small the step is. All big goals are made up of smaller goals. All big successes are made up of smaller successes.

So in order to have a good plan, you obviously need to have a goal. Goal-setting is one of the most important skills you can ever learn in your life. Mastering this one skill alone could be worth millions of dollars in your life! So make you you check back on my next post where I will go in-depth into the skill of Goal-Setting.

Trust me, once you master the immensely useful skill of Goal-setting and apply it in your daily life, you'll wonder how you ever got by without this skill!

Back to having a good plan ...

You need to plan your day according to the goals you have set for your life.

Let's take an example to illustrate this concept more clearly.

Let's say you have set a certain financial goal in your life. For example, you wish to earn $6000 this month. Anyone wouldn't mind earning an extra $6000 in the next 30 days?

Once you decide on your financial goal for the month, break it up into smaller, daily goals. Remember that big goals are always made up of smaller goals.

In this example, in order to earn $6000 a month, you would need to earn $200 per day, correct?

So a good plan would be one that allows you to earn at least $200 per day. So when you go about planning your daily activities, ask yourself this very critical question. This question alone could radically change your life for the better. Ready?

The question is ...

"Will this activity lead me towards achieving my daily goal of $200, whether directly or indirectly?"

If the answer is yes, go for it! You are formulating a good daily plan which will help you achieve your daily goal.

If the answer is no, change your activity to a more productive one!

Another question you need to ask yourself ...

"What's my hourly worth? How much is one hour of my time?"

All successful people know that Time = Money. Time is the most precious resource on earth and no matter who you are, no matter which country you come from, you only have 24 hours in a day!

So if your hourly worth is at least $1000 per hour (and you should see yourself at least at that), would you waste your precious time on unproductive activities? Would you waste your precious time on activities that do not bring you closer to your daily or monthly goal? I'm sure the answer is obvious.

So plan your daily activities such that they bring you towards your daily and monthly goals. If an activity doesn't achieve this, dump it! Don't fall victim to time-traps and time-stealers! Many activities will scream out for your time and attention. But remember to spend your time and effort on productive activities that lead you to your goal.

Remember ... Your hourly worth is at least $1000!

So now that you have a clearer idea of what a good plan is, what should you be doing?

Find a quiet moment in a quiet place, determine your goals for the month and come up with a good plan on how you want to spend the next 30 days of your life. Whether or not the next 30 days will be fruitful depends on how you plan for it.

Come up with an action plan of your next 30 days. Remember to make it as detailed as possible. Break it down into a day-to-day plan. Remeber not to fall prey to time-stealing activities. And most importantly, execute your plan!

Carpe Diem ... Seize the day!
